It is a compact photochemical reaction experiment device in which a UV light source is used.
There are two types of UV light sources: high-pressure mercury lamps and low-pressure mercury lamps.
The standard reaction tank has two sizes: 500ml and more than 1500ml. To work out the suitable size for respective light sources, refer to Table 1.
Reaction tanks other than the standard type can also be designed/created by using various customized specifications such as using lamp power of more than 3kw, a type in which both UV and ozone are used, etc.

Table 1. Sizes of reaction tank and suitable light source
| Reaction tank | Rated capacity | Light source | Power source | Lamp jacket |
| VG500 | Approximately 500 ml | High-pressure mercury lamp: HL100CH-4 | HB100P-1 | JW-1Q |
| Low-pressure mercury lamp: UVL20PH-6 | UVB20 | |||
| VG1500 | Approximately 1500 ml | High-pressure mercury lamp: HL400B-8 | HB400P-1 | JW-2Q |
| Low-pressure mercury lamp: UVL20PH-6 | UVB20 |
Note 1: The numbers with the lamp models refers to lamp power.
Note 2: The last character of the lamp jacket name indicates the material used. "Q" means quartz glass, and "G" means Pyrex.
Note 3: The lamp arc tube offers three options for its material. For details, please contact our sales representative.

Table 4 shows the spectral radiant energy of various mercury lamps. Though the value of UVP-20H is not yet obtained, the illumination of the 254nm line can be measured. 11SC-1 (PenrayLamp) data can be used as a reference to know the spectral radiant energy tendency of low-pressure mercury lamps.
